Rated 4 out of 5 by from Food Saver Roll I have used Foodsaver for several years, I own several. I have tried the other "off brand" storage bag rolls, and they are not as good as the Foodsaver brand. I have had trouble with the others losing the vacuum seal in the freezer and leaving my meats freezer burned. Some of the other brands are very thick and stiff and don't conform well to the food, leaving air pockets around the food. The Foodsaver brand is a good thickness and seals up tight. It may cost a little more, but you will not lose freshness, which is why you got a Foodsaver in the first place! I watch for the specials and stock up. But the "others" are not the same! Stick with what works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for extended freezer storage. I have been using the bag rolls for a number of years in both the 11" and 8" sizes. We grow all of our own veggies which are blanched and frozen for use throughout the year. Very often, we don't use all of the veggies within the year, and some are carried over for 2 or more years. With bags made from the rolls and using the Foodsaver vacuum units, the veggies taste as good as fresh even more than 2 years later. By removing all of the air, there is no freezer burn and no dehydration of foods. I prefer the rolls because I can make bags in any size that I need. There is less waste and the rolls are more cost effective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grandson is very happy with it. Since my wife and I already have one, we decided that one of our grandsons would benefit greatly from it. He does a lot of hunting and fishing and he has told us that it was one of the most thoughtful gifts he had ever received. We also included some extra rolls , both the *" and 11", so that he could get started right away. The day after we gave it to him he killed a deer and is now in the process of cleaning, butchering and packaging it for the freezer. In retrospect, he thought that the timing could not have been better. We are sure he will enjoy the product as much as we have enjoyed our unit.

When she cooks she always cooks more than is needed on purpose and later we heat it up and we have another great meal without all the effort. We use it on our camping trips also. The food goes well and saves the wife from having to cook. Just heat and eat. Plus when she buys foods such as meat she buys on sale and cut and uses the food saver to protect the foods when put in a freezer. My only problem has been they keep coming up; with better products and I still have my old 2. But it is tempting to update again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't live without them I've been using the Foodsaver system now for several years and I can attest that the system really keeps the food fresh much longer than regular freezer bags or butcher paper, with no freezer burn. A while back, I found a package from a couple of years ago and the food was still delicious. I enjoy the rolls because I can cut them to just the size I need with minimal waste. I learned this year when I want to freeze applesauce or other semi-liquid foods that I can fold over the portion needed to seal the bag and tape it closed, spread out the sauce into a flat layer, freeze, then seal and it does really well. I find the 8" size to be the one I use the most as it is just my husband and I that I freeze for, so I don't need to freeze a large amount at one time, just enough to fix for us for a meal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Economical size. As you have probably heard the bags are terrific but a bit expensive, So I am always looking for ways to conserve and not waste. Before the portioned pouch was offered by you, I was making them myself out of the 11" bags. (No perforation of course, but worked just as well). The 8" width is perfect for me because it is just me and my guy. I seal individual pieces, them If I have company I just take out aother portion. The bags keep their seal. Love love love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my foodsaver I use my foodsaver on a regular basis. My favorite use for the foodsaver is preparing meals ahead and freezing them in individual portions. I love to cook but have only two in our household. I prepare large meals, freeze them into individual portions, then use them when I don't have time or desire to cook a great meal. This has also helped me maintain a healthy weight due to proper portions. This is by far the best kitchen gadget I have ever purchased.
