Rated 5 out of 5 by from A well-designed food sealer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this food saver two weeks ago. I'm a hunter, and I have used another one for the last several years, mainly to seal packages of game. Other sealers I have used have the sealing surface several inches above the counter top. As a result, when the material is placed in the sealer, the weight of the material being sealed pulls the material and sometimes the seal don't work. This unit has the sealing surface at the appropriate angle so the bag being sealed can rest on the counter and not pull on the sealed surface. Every bag I have sealed has been perfect, with a continuous great seal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, easy to use [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loving this compact sized sealer. It is so easy to use. Being my first experience with using a sealer I was expecting a few mishaps but this sealer does all the work for you. The touch controls are simple and instructions included made my first attempt successful. Simply place your food in the bag. Make sure you leave at least 3" of space at top of bag. Open your sealer, place open end onto channel. Close lid, latch it and press vacuum. It's that simple. This is compact in size and easily stores in my cabinet. I found additional bags readily available at my local box store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ups and downs. I was very pleased that you brought the smaller vacuum sealer back. I had one for a number of years and finally wore out the foam seal. When I tried to get a new one, I was informed that FoodSaver no longer made that product or the replacements for it so I had to throw it out. I do hope that you will keep some foam seals in stock for this new one for several years. One other small disappointment is the fact that it does not have the accessory port for taking the air out of container accessories. I miss that. Can one be purchased to do that? But I'm still very pleased with my purchase and will continue to use BOTH of my FoodSaver's till they die!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Food saver... Life saver [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently got the Food Saver and I love it. I'm using it to safely & easily seal and store meats & produce. Chicken & meats I buy in bulk and then vacuum pack options for later use. Into the freezer they go and when ready I either thaw or use my sous vide circulation pump and toss it in the water and it comes out cooked shortly after. The vacuum sealer is easy to use, the plastic rolls are customizable the the size you need. I've been wanting a food saver for a long while, this one checks all the boxes. Did I mention I does not overwhelm your counter? It's compact enough to fit in a drawer for storage when not in use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Recommended attachment destroys machine I bought the recommended handheld attachment through the link on the page for this machine. The instructions tell you to "pry the plug out of the machine with a butter knife" It doesn't come out. Using different tools remove the plug, the plug only comes out in pieces. And the surface around the hole becomes marred and scratched. The instructions show the hose only going into the machine. The hose does not come off the green plug/clip. The green plug/clip is too small for the hole. * Now I have a machine that doesn't work, is scratched up, and a handheld device for who knows what product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Happy I was so excited as brought home my new FoodSaver. What I didn't notice until a week later is that it will not seal gallon bags. My husband opened the box and looked over the manual. He didn't catch that gallon bags would not work. So I put it away until I needed to use it. Threw away the box and went on. Last night I got it out to use for the first time. And found it will not seal gallon bags. So now I am stuck with a product that was not clearly labeled for a new user to understand. And will not use it very often need mostly for gallon size. But can't afford to just throw it away and buy what I need. Very UNHAPPY

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A kitchen necessity [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time using a food vacuum sealer and I'm not sure how we never got one sooner. I have a family of 5 and be conscientious on how I store or freeze our food very important. The food sealer has helped me be able to seal my food per meal type and properly store left overs for freshness. Not to mention this product has made it much easier to meal prep and seal fruit per shakes. The sealer is user friendly, has an intuitive control panel and features a seal & vacuum indicator light, accessory port, lock latch, upper and lower gasket, an extra wide sealing strip and removable dripping tray. It also comes with a generous amount of seal bags. Overall, the product proves to be an extremely helpful and useful piece of kitchen equipment and definitely something every food enthusiast should own. I highly recommend this product.

Loved that it came with extra bags. The actual saver is a good size and lightweight so doesn’t take up much space either. Definitely worth the investment if you need a way to store food longer.
